Yesterday I went to Indiana with my little sister Tamra so she could try on wedding dresses. First of all she looked AMAZING in every single dress. I have no idea how she is going to pick because I would have brought them all home… Second…yes we did have to drive all the way to Indiana to go to the bridal store. (it was just across the river, so it really only took us an hour…) We had a lot of fun!
On they way up there I spotted something that caused me to act like a bloomin’ idiot.
Check it out.
It’s a Cheddars!
We didn’t have time to stop, but I am absolutely making time to go back. I was telling my sister all about my first job there when I was in High School (although it was short lived) …working there with Tammy and of course about the cheese soup! It closed down in Columbus so it’s been years since we’ve eaten there. Anybody up for a road trip???
This show looks WAY too funny. But, maybe that’s just the young mom in me speaking…(not quite this young though) Or… maybe it’s the mom in me that cringes a little when I hear someone say having kids isn’t hard. (like the chick in the video)
Teen couples that want to have babies are a part of a social experiment where they are given borrowed children and left to fend for themselves. ( with the parents watching on nanny cams to insure the safety of their children of course…I’d be very worried if they weren’t…and I’m still undecided if this is the best idea for the little ones involved)
and worked a lot of church camps… (but here we are absolutely not working…)
(what you can’t see in this picture is us hanging over a huge hill… circa the Titanic fever era. I think we even yelled I’m the king of the world. Possibly one of the dorkiest things ever…but it’s crackin’ me up today! If remember right it was pretty funny then too… The sucker hanging out of my mouth is kinda gross though, still thought I’d share )
Last night John the Kids and I had the best night we have had in a long time with John’s friend from work and his parents. We swam…we ate and we talked about all things northern you can’t buy in our area. (they moved to Ky. from Pennsylvania recently)
We compiled a list of things that you can’t buy down here, that are desperately missed… (but only if you are from the north of course…because everyone here seems fine with it)
Here’s a few from our list…
1. SCHWEBEL’S_BREAD And…more importantly pre-sliced Schwebel’s Italian bread. If you’ve never had it drive to Ohio right now and get a loaf. There is nothing better with my mother-in-laws spaghetti. yum. John’s friend brought a few loaves of Italian bread back with him from his last trip north and he gave me one…and I am currently devouring it.
2. SNYDER’S_OF_BERLIN chips. John’s favorite chips in the whole world are Snyders BBQ. btw…Snyders make the best Cheese puffs ever. I don’t like chips and I like these…
3. Really Good Apples. I think we were spoiled with Michigan apples all these years…
Watch the two boys in front of me…they looks like their teeth are hurting just watching this guy.
So cool.
I LOVE camp…I can’t tell you how much I wish I was there with those kids this week! ( I mean officially there working instead of my current plan of sneaking there every chance I get to hang out with the kids… :) )
I Know I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but my babies are growing up and I’m not sure I’m OK with it!!!
Am I destined to be the crazy emotional mom that cries at every milestone and breaks down at my kids graduations and weddings…hmm, it’s looking that way. (OK maybe not)
This really does feel like yesterday though…
My little guy turned 6 this past weekend! I know…crazy!
Bending Steele…Lifting Cars…. and other strong man feats. (btw… they lifted our associate pastors NEW Mustang which was hilarious!)
I know what your thinking…That doesn’t sound like your thing… It’s not, BUT IT WAS SO COOL! The boys thought so too.
David’s face is priceless.
These guys were great and perfect for a camp setting. Seventeen kids got saved during the alter call. (and that’s what it all about anyway, right ) That’s the coolest part about these guys they give an amazing gospel presentation. The kids were so into it. It was A BLAST. If you can go see these guys sometime I recommend it.
Check out the dude blowing up the hot water bottle!
If I get a chance I’ll up load the the guy pulling the Titan truck with his teeth.
