The Moonwalk.

March 17, 2008

So, my poor little son has been in trouble at school lately…

There is nothing worse than having to pull a stick in Kindergarten.

His offenses include…playing rock paper scissors at the lunch table and talking too loud to his friends.

hum?  Being too social and too loud?

That’s genetic!

(no one in our house is too social or loud. except of course for me, my husband and my daughter…)

The poor kid is screwed.

This week had to pull a stick again.

This time for an apparent moon walk.

( he has been watching America’s Best Dance Crew with his dad)

This is the conversation I overheard between him and my mother yesterday.

Nana- So you had to pull a stick today David?

David- yeah. :(

Nana- What were you doing to get in trouble?

David- I was walking backwards into my classroom.

Nana- Oh. Backwards. You know that’s a sign of intelligence?

David- oh. You know Nana…I can spell my name backwards.

Nana- interesting.

Just a hunch, but I think he might be bored in Kindergarten.

  1. lol. Yeah, we had that problem too! You know, K12 is sure amazing…

  2. And what on earth is pulling a stick?

  3. Pulling a stick is like getting a yellow light.
You pull a stick from your cup if you are “bad” and three sticks and your out…so to speak.
I think it’s an awful way to dicipline kids. But, I don’t have to tell you how I feel about the school system David is in. Thank God summer is almost here!

  4. I’ll take responsibility for this one. Yes, I’m loud. And yes, I’m intellegent enough to be able to moon walk. I’m so happy that me and my sons time together has impacted his life in a meaningful way.

  5. sticks? cups? hmm…

I think david should go to class tommorrow wearing a ninja suit with a michael jackson glove while he moonwalks to the lunchroom and to challenge the teacher to a game of rock, paper, scissors. Then, just for added good measure teach him how to make those gooey rubbery balls out of rubber cement to chuck across the class at random times.

    sticks…geesh.

  6. I’m seconding Rick’s idea!

  7. Ollie~ that time has also taught him to stand on his head! lol
(p.s. people probably think I have two husbands ollie and john… ;)

I like your idea Rick. I think it just might work.

Plan B shall be entering him and his crew in the America’s dance war.

  8. that would be awesome….
